Hunter Moorhead

Senior Partner

Hunter Moorhead is a Senior Partner at Crossroads Strategies, LLC. Currently, Hunter is focused on advocacy work on behalf of CRS’ diverse client list. These activities involve monitoring and impacting the legislative process to help ensure that clients achieve real successes. In addition to advocacy activities, Hunter is actively engaged in various federal and state elections.

Hunter began his career with the U.S. House of Representatives as a legislative assistant for former Mississippi Congressman, Mike Parker. Hunter then joined the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Agriculture, serving as legislative assistant, and eventually as staff director for the Specialty Crops and Foreign Agricultural Programs Subcommittee.

In 2001, Hunter joined the office of Senator Thad Cochran of Mississippi. He served as the policy advisor monitoring the federal appropriations process along with agricultural and natural resources policy. Hunter also served as professional staff for the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee where he focused on funding programs under the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

In 2006, Hunter joined the White House National Economic Council (NEC) as Special Assistant to former President George W. Bush. This service included developing the Administration’s 2008 Farm Policy proposals and the Administration’s “Twenty in Ten” energy policy.

A native Mississippian, Hunter earned his B.S. degree in Agricultural Economics from Mississippi State University.
